For more than 30 years, RIVM Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieu (Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieu) produces the Dutch Public Health Foresight Study (PHFS). The PHFS is commissioned by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. These foresight studies are used to inform national and local public health policy. Typical aspects of the PHFS methods are a multidisciplinary, participatory and conceptual approach and the use of a broad definition of health. In 2024, the 9th edition of the Dutch PHFS was published.
